Cabooses
Cabooses are great! If my wife wouldn't disown me and the city wouldn't fine me out of existence for code violations, I would SO get my own! Like many people my age, I mourn the passing of the caboose era. A brightly colored caboose was always a welcome sight on the tail end of a long coal drag.
I currently have reskins of 6 kinds of cabooses. |
NYC/Penn Central N6-A Transfer Caboose
OK, it has been a long time in coming, and has gone through three complete rebuilds to get here. Ex-NYC transfer caboose, Penn Central Class N6-A.
Big thanks to Matruck for all of his help. I've driven him crazy for weeks working on these.
You will need Simulatortrain's caboose bogeys from USLW. Couplers are by Cloaked Ghost, built in or available on the DLS. Uses Bloodnok's position sensing script to control the flashing EOT lamps.
I will allow reskins soon, but these are a beta version. Please wait till I have a final version available shortly before you start reskinning. There will most likely be a remapping and there are more features in store.

Amtrak #14032
A modified version of my transfer caboose for Amtrak. This one uses a different script to control 4 non-flashing marker lights and has a large kerosene tank on one end. On Justin Cornell's (NorfolkSouthern37) caboose bogeys.

Conrail #18105
Some of these cabooses use the Bettendorf caboose truck made by Simulatortrain. Since USLW has been down for quite a while, he has been kind enough to give me permission to distribute them here on my site. Thanks a bunch, Adam!!

Penn Central #18086
Louisville & Nashville #6122
While we were working on this model, Mick mentioned wanting an L&N version. It doesn't look like the L&N used any transfer cabooses, but how could I refuse the man that gave me so much help making these?? Here you go, Mick! Enjoy! These are on Justin Cornell's 33" caboose bogies built-in to TS12, so you will need TS12 to use these.
Short Bay Window
The transfer cabooses are my favorites! This model was made by Tyler Bishop (Flamerail) and released to public domain. I fixed several faults with it to make it TS2010 compatible and make the marker lights work.

N-7A Bay Window
Reskins of Pete Willard's N-7A Conrail caboose, with permission.
|
Center Cupola
Reskins of Michael Ferrell's (Leeferr) L&N cupola caboose, with permission. I added the smoke effects from the SBW caboose and script and working EOT lights.

Reskins of Michael Ferrell's (Leeferr) L&N bay window caboose, with permission. I added the smoke effects from the SBW caboose, script and working EOT lights.

Offset Cupola
Reskin of Sandy Gervais's (Sandman2) offset cupola caboose, with permission. These cabooses use an interior that is faulty on the DLS, so when you download them, you will have to repair the interior to get them to show up in game.

Pennsylvania N-5C
Reskin of Jeff Barr's (Magicland) N-5C Cupola style caboose. Added Smoke effects, an End-of-Train lamp mesh, position sensing end of train lights, and uses Chameleon Script.
